subtitle: History

N2 Productions was formed from the desire to create a firm whose capabilities and flexibility enabled it to respond to clients' needs for expertise, regardless of a project's scope. Our founders had enjoyed lengthy and successful careers in academia, healthcare and the arts, designing and implementing strategic plans across a variety of platforms, including marketing, fundraising, public relations and special events. The desire to offer their expertise to a broad range of clients whose needs varied widely led to the formation of the firm in 2000.

N2 Productions' inaugural project came at the behest of Pennsylvania's then-Governor Thomas Ridge, during the Republican National Convention held in Philadelphia in July 2000: the development and execution of a multi-day program of educational and entertainment tours and events for members of the international diplomatic corps and their families. The program received unanimous accolades, helping to launch the firm on its trajectory of success.

A new management team took the helm of N2 Productions in 2004, when two "Ns" who had been in marketing and event production separately for years joined forces. Nancy Lewis, one of the founding principals of N2, hailed from the world of nonprofit and corporate events and marketing, while her new partner, Noel Zayas, had built a huge following in the nightlife and entertainment industry throughout Philadelphia and New Jersey. Zayas was the marketing mastermind behind the success of numerous entertainment venues and retail establishments, including Shampoo, Transit and Club Tru nightclubs, and Eleganza Boutique, among others. His lavish events regularly drew thousands who followed his parties almost religiously.

N2 Productions enjoys developing lasting partnerships with the clients we serve. In addition to our in-house experts, we maintain relationships with an extensive network of associates that enables us to offer highly customized solutions to our clients' variable business needs.

Nancy Lewis

Nancy Lewis is a veteran professional who brings more than twenty years of success in development and public affairs to N2 Productions.

She has helped raise more than $90 million for nonprofit corporations in Philadelphia, including arts and culture institutions, academic healthcare organizations and social service agencies.

While a student at the University of Pennsylvania, Nancy managed the summer telephone campaign for the Philadelphia Drama Guild, achieving the highest subscription level ever for the regional theater. During the academic year she also served as an intern, assisting in the production of opening night galas, VIP backstage events and the founding of the 'Young Playwrights' society – one of the first-ever 'young friends' groups in the City.

As assistant director of special events at The Medical College of Pennsylvania for three years, Nancy helped produce a staggering number of events, including annual Homecoming and Commencement activities, the inauguration of the College's 18th President, openings of the state-of-the-art Patient Care Pavilion and renovated Emergency Room, dedication of the Morani Art Gallery, annual fundraising galas, medical staff functions, C.M.E. programs, golf outings, United Way campaign kick-offs, donor cultivation events and much more. Following her work in special events, Nancy accepted a position as development coordinator, with responsibility for grant writing and major gifts development.

During her four-year tenure as director of development at The Graduate Hospital, Nancy conceived, opened and managed 'Seconds on South' a thrift store whose profits underwrote the provision of indigent care through the hospital's medical clinic. Moving from the hospital to an appointment with the local Community Development Corporation, her work focused on the development of health, housing and employment programs in the South of South Street district.

Nancy then joined the capital campaign at WHYY TV12/91 FM, producing a vast array of events and managing the cultivation and solicitation process for corporate and individual donors, enabling the station to surpass its campaign goal of $26 million in less than three years.

After completing the capital campaign, Nancy left WHYY to enter the field of consulting and, in 2000, co-founded N2 Productions, Inc.

Noel Zayas

Noel Zayas brings more than 10 years of marketing and events planning experience in the Philadelphia/New Jersey nightlife and entertainment industries to N2 Productions.

Noel was the marketing director behind the success of numerous entertainment venues and retail establishments, including Shampoo Nightclub, Transit, Gasoline/8th Street Lounge, Club Tru in Atlantic City and Eleganza Boutique, among others.

Fresh out of Drexel University, Noel began work as a mental health therapist for youth at Philadelphia's APM Medical Center and adult individual care at Wedge Medical Center. He then proceeded to work as a case manager for Mustard Seed, a managed care company later bought by Creative Behavioral Health System. At this point, Noel decided to switch gears and, utilizing his minor in marketing and his passion for the arts, joined the Wilma Theater as marketing associate.

Noel worked at the theater for one season and then met Barry Guten, the genius behind Egypt, Pulsations and Shampoo nightclubs. Guten recruited Noel to become Shampoo's director of marketing and special events for the venue's most important night of the week, Saturday. Noel's branding and marketing of this night, which included the production of lavish events that drew thousands each week, made Shampoo one of Philadelphia's most successful and popular nightclubs ever.

Noel built Shampoo's profile over the next four years, forging a solid network with Philadelphia's finest retail boutiques, beauty salons, artists, modeling agencies, photographers, stylists and designers, creating strategic marketing alliances and drawing throngs of customers who became ardent followers of his work.

In 2000, the owners of Transit Nightclub recruited Noel to become director of marketing for the city's newest nightlife venue. One of his first creative projects there was the production of a 24-hour grand opening whose novelty and noteworthiness brought the club extensive media attention. Within a year, Noel had also assumed responsibility for the Gasoline Nightclub/8th Street Lounge property, as marketing director. Over the next two years, incorporating the talents of gifted artists, dancers, actors and models extravagantly costumed in theme, Noel created sumptuous, glittering events that dazzled all attendees, including the media. He soon appeared in a full-page spread in Philadelphia Style's Second Anniversary Issue, placing him among Philadelphia's 'people to watch'.

Atlantic City soon came calling, and Noel produced the grand opening of Club Tru. His two year tenure as marketing director led to the venue's success as the city's largest and most highly attended nightclub not affiliated with a hotel. He then went on to independently produce entertainment and fashion events at venues as diverse as the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Emerald City and Evolution. In late 2004, Noel joined N2 Productions as partner.
