Masquerade: New Years Eve Celebration and Grand Opening of 1616

Inspiration for this event produced in celebration of both New Year's Eve and the Grand Opening of the venue was Cinderella's Ball. Event design was a luxury hotel with a main ballroom and east and west wings that served as lounges and sitting parlors. In keeping with the masquerade theme, all patrons received a mask at the door to join in the festivities. A live interpretation by the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra began the uproar on the main floor as they joined DJ Chris Cox for a classical/house music performance. Following the New Years' Eve countdown, opera singer Maria Brand and violin soloist Mica continued the ball theme as they performed a club version of Phantom of the Opera. Penny Feathers and Formal Dimensions Tuxedoes provided costumes for all performers and staff. Chris Cox of Thunderpuss 2000 delivered beats in the ballroom; DJs Reno, Christian James and Alexander aka Adrock took the turntables in the library, and in the Parlor, DJ Peyote and Dean Chronic provided a lounge sound. In the Executive Suite, DJs Cosmic Cat and Dozia entertained the VIP section. The Ritz Carlton, 76 Carriage Company, Ettore Hair Salon, and Philadelphia Weekly sponsored this event attended by more than 2500 people and awarded Philadelphia Weekly's Party of the Year.
